Top political and military commander of Hamas Yahya Sinwar was reportedly killed in an attack in Gaza, according to the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF). A key player in the Palestinian resistance, Sinwar had already spent years in Israeli jails before rising to be among Hamas's most powerful person. With Hamas pledging to exact revenge, his killing is anticipated to heighten hostilities between Israel and Gaza.
